Gruene, Texas
August 8, 2018
Last weekend I took my family on a little adventure to the city of Gruene, Texas which is about an hour from where we live in San Antonio. With summer coming to an end so quickly I felt like we needed to go explore somewhere new and that is what lead us to Gruene. The town is small (only 3 streets) but is full of shops, boutiques, antique stores and little restaurants. We were able to check out most of the town in a few hours even with the crowds and amount of people who were there for a summer Saturday afternoon. We had a snack of chips and dip at the Gruene River Grill. Tested some sugar scrubs (and bought some which is amazing!) at The Best Lil Bath Haus. Got to taste different olive oils at The Gruene Olive Tasting Room and candy at The Great Texas Pecan Candy Co. After exploring and enjoying the quaint little town we went down to the Guadalupe river which the town overlooks and quickly dipped our toes in. We were there for a short time but if you go and want to spend more time in the river there are two companies there that you can rent tubes from to allow you to go floating down the river. We had a great time and I suggest anyone who is visiting Austin or San Antonio to check it out.
