Texas State Capital

Texas State Capital

April 16, 2017

While on Spring break we also took the time to take a little drive up to Austin, Texas for the first time. We went during the South by Southwest festival so there was more hustle and bustle then usual but we got to look around and enjoy some delicious food from a couple different food trucks. One of the highlights of our short day trip was taking the time to check out the Texas state capital building. We explored the inside of the capital along with the surrounding grounds. One of my favorite memories from the capital was when we were leaving we saw two guys, who clearly worked at the capital, had taken their suit jackets off and were playing a simple game of catch on the capital front lawn. It was just refreshing to see two grown men be like, " hey you want to take a break, unwind and just toss the ball around". It the small things in life that make it great!

San Antonio Botanical Garden

San Antonio Botanical Garden

April 15, 2017

While on spring break we also made a trip to the San Antonio Botanical Garden. Since this year has been so warm we went at a great time and a great deal of the flowers were in bloom. We enjoyed spending the day walking around and checking out the many exhibits on different kinds of flowers and plants. If you are ever in San Antonio and want to spend a quite afternoon somewhere this is a great place to do so.

San Antonio highlights

Revisiting San Antonio Sights

April 14, 2017

A few weeks ago my kiddos were on spring break (which was crazy because it wasn't even officially spring yet but thats ok) so we decided to check out some of the sights we saw a couple years ago when we came to San Antonio on vacation, including Natural Bridge Caverns, Natural Bridge Wildlife Park and the Riverwalk. Being able to see these things again has confirmed to us once again that we are happy with the move to San Antonio.
